A Reminder to Just Do You! 💎
Did you know that no two snowflakes are alike?
I became fascinated with snowflakes and ice crystals when I read Dr. Masaru Emoto’s book about Water Consciousness, where he scientifically proved how water crystals that received good thoughts, words and prayers structurally changed.
In other words, crystals that were dark, fuzzy and looked unhealthy actually became bright, larger and healthy, and vice-versa–those that received negative feedback declined in all ways. And, just to magnify the importance of this for us…we are made up of 75% water! Makes you think about the energy we not only create with our own minds and hearts, but the energy we unconsciously (or consciously!) receive from others. 😬
Though this is incredibly powerful, today I was focusing on the fact that each snowflake or ice crystal is completely unique. No two are the same!
This was on my mind, because working with so many high-achievers I see a consistent pattern–one of heaviness when they compare themselves, their lives, their work, and their actions with those of others.
It’s painful to observe how quickly they can become stuck by observing another and questioning, “Is this what I should be doing? Should I change course? Am I doing the wrong things? Why am I not that happy? When will I experience what she is experiencing?”
Comparison is POISON.
And, what you are doing to yourself when you doubt yourself IS contaminating the water crystals inside of you!!!
I’ve seen and experienced myself how comparing our lives and results to those of others can stop us dead on our tracks; like flight, fight and freeze. It is completely debilitating.
One of the reasons I infuse my coaching and teaching with the ancient wisdom of the 5 Elements (nature and the life cycle!), Astrology, and Human Design is because it quickly reminds us of how perfectly unique we are! And not just our make-up, but the Divine Plan and timing of how life gets to show up for us in a different way than it does for others.
One of the best things we can do when we fall into the trap of comparison is to quickly remind ourselves of the following:
- I AM Unique! I was born with specific talents, gifts and opportunities to cultivate and share in this lifetime.
- I AM always at the right place and at the right time.
- What is mine will NEVER pass me by –it just might not be on time table that my mind would like for it to be!
Additionally, one of the fastest ways to shift out of that energy that drags us down immediately is to call out proof that that life is on our side RIGHT NOW.
- What happened this week or today that you are immensely grateful for?
- What about yourself and your life do you LOVE and APPRECIATE?
- What are you ridiculously proud of yourself for?
- And, can you celebrate the other person’s success? Remember that energy is magnetic and what we give to others we will receive back (again…in Divine Timing!).
There is also a gift in comparison! Yes, there is always a yin and yang to everything!!!
When we feel that yucky twinge that comparison hits us with, we also can pause, observe and wonder what about what this person is experiencing or doing that I may be able to learn from and try out for myself?
Maybe they are trying something you’ve always wanted to but never had the discipline or guts to try?
If this is the case, the comparison is acting like a mirror to nudge us or motivate us to stretch and grow.
I’m curious… have you dealt with “comparisonitis” recently?
What can you share?
Wishing you all so much love and light!
Namaste, Monique

Comparing ourselves with others is so human. I’m pretty sure most of us have felt it at some point.
I’m presently on an easier path where my goal is mostly acceptance of what is, knowing that spirit has my back. ‘What is’ works for me, since I am obviously where I need to be.
In this frame of mind there’s not much competition nor comparison…each one of us are walking, building our own paths. Perhaps at times similar, but oh so different.
Thanks Mo! Great message…
