Like many of you, my heart is heavy as Russia invades Ukraine.
In these moments, we can experience a wide range of emotions, from anger to fear to hopelessness. And, when hopelessness sets in and we realize that we have very little control over this situation, we can feel paralyzed.
So the question becomes, as individuals of this world community and economy, what is our role when we witness evil with the suffering and devastation at the other side of it?
I don’t claim to be any sort of expert in removing anyone’s evil tendencies, pain or fear. However, as a student and practitioner of energy, I’d love to offer a way to view and move through the emotions of this scary situation.
I am an extremely positive and optimistic person. It’s how I’m built. In fact, it’s engrained in my DNA, which can be found in my Astrology and Human Design (and in countless other models I’ve used and taught).
Many of my friends, colleagues and family members have often asked me, “How do you not let things bother you? How do you move on so quickly? How can you be happy right now?”
Yes, I do believe it is an innate talent that I can TURN ON like a light switch, and it also takes A LOT of awareness and energy management on my part to ignite it, because I recognize the importance of living in a space of peace and joy no matter what is happening around me.
I also find myself feeling guilty when I move on too quickly, and often ask myself, “Why can’t you sit in the pain longer? Why can’t you be angry? Are you being selfish?” I am very human after all.
What I have learned though, and know to be true with every fiber of my being, is that the more sadness and anger we bring into our lives, the more it will ripple out to those around us and from them to others, etc.
We’ve all heard of the phrase “We all rise together.” Well, in the world of energy, this is only true if a higher vibrational energy is brought into the mix to help elevate the lower energy.
Einstein also shared this wisdom with us, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
You get the idea, yes?
Energy is the invisible building block of our universe. It is everything. As energetic beings we must be responsible for the energy we are consciously and unconsciously sharing with others. We also must be aware of the power of LOVE -vs- FEAR.
Take a look at this Hawkins Energy Scale below. It is very similar to the Energy Leadership model that I learned (and have used daily) since I became certified as a Professional Coach in 2008. In fact, it’s what pulled me into becoming a coach!
Through this model I finally understood that we must be responsible for our energy because it either builds up others (and ourselves!) or tears them/us down! So, when I became physically sick because of a toxic work environment, I later painfully realized that in many ways I let myself get sick. I couldn’t blame it all on “them”.
At that time I didn’t understand energy and could not take responsibility for preventing others’ energy from harming me. That has changed, and it’s been a tough daily practice.
I use this same practice when uncontrollable, horrible things happen in the world.
As you will see below, to make this very simple to understand, the more (as a world) we consciously raise our energetic vibration (through our thoughts, emotions, words and actions), the more love, joy, health, and success we bring into our lives and our world.
There is an endless amount of scientific and medical research–even my own experience working with my clients’ energy using the Energy Leadership Index Assessment–that proves how wellbeing and success (in a nutshell) thrives at the higher vibrations, and sickness and lack lives toward the bottom of the scale.
So, all of this brings me to my over-arching point today.
Yes, it’s okay to feel sad, angry, scared and hopeless. Be there. Stay there for a bit. BUT NOT TOO LONG.
The world needs our light when there is darkness.
Let’s bring the light to those who cannot find theirs–like those in Ukraine.
We bring the light through our loving thought, prayers and actions, and by raising our own energy.
Be happy. Be grateful.
Do all you can to make your life and the lives of those around you better. Strive. Live. Laugh. Love.
Don’t feel guilty. Try not to. Be there, but don’t linger.
Our LOVE is bringing healing to the world whether we are conscious of it or not.
I hope you will join me this week in MANY moments of silence to send light and love from our hearts to envelope the country of Ukraine.
Be a Warrior of Peace and Love!
Namaste,
Monique
