Welcome!
I just returned from a truly magical weekend where I emerged as an Ordained Priestess!
I know many of you may be curious about what that means, and I promise to share more soon. 🙂
But, as I get ready for another soul-filled adventure later this week, I am reminded of 3 simple things that can really help us to create sacred living through simplicity!
Last night I was surprised to see the movie Eat, Pray, Love on Netflix. You remember this one, right? Most people either loved it or hated it!
Regardless, as I take in the movie again after many years, what came up for me is that we don’t have to travel around the world, take a 1-year sabbatical, or turn our lives upside down in order to feel healthy, happy and purposeful.
Sure, that may work too, but I’m all about helping myself and my clients find moment-to-moment, simple solutions for engaged, joyful living and leading.
So these 3 things that create the basis of this movie showed up for me as REAL SIMPLE SOLUTIONS for mindful living, and maybe they can for you as well:
EAT: It just so happens that my family and I are really focusing on what and how we eat. For the first time in a long time I’m actually cooking (really nutritious meals)! Yes, I’ve been quite lucky that my husband would do all the cooking! And now I really enjoy taking the lead, cooking with love and feeding that love to my family. We also are actually sitting down together to eat. A small action with a huge benefit!
PRAY: This has been a priority in my life for quite some time. It’s less about traditional prayer and more about CONNECTING with the DIVINE every day–in different ways. Perhaps it’s a walk in nature and finding a feather (for me–a symbol that I’m never alone), or helping a stray dog, or meditating or praying by candlelight each morning.
Now as a Priestess, it’s even more meaningful and a part of my mission to help others to connect, see the Divine in their lives and feel how that changes everything for them.
LOVE: Well, you’ve heard me say this time and again, and yet it can be a tough practice to follow and master, right? There is only Love or Fear.
I learned this as a teen reading Marianne Williamson, and A Course in Miracles, and it continues to be one of the most challenging practices (because it’s that important to master!)
- Which one do we choose to operate in? Is it a conscious or reactive decision?
- How do we show LOVE to ourselves and others every day?
- If all we’re focused on is achieving “success” are we truly living and acting in love?
- Are we falling in love with our lives as they are TODAY?
My personal theme that emerged from my Priestess weekend was THIS IS IT.
THIS…what’s right in front of me right now IS ALL THERE IS.
Will I love it? Honor it? See the learning in it? Be grateful for it?
How can these, simple 3 things help you get the most joy and fulfillment out of your life today?
I hope it’s a useful reflection for you. As always, if you care to share (just hit reply!), I’m here to read your e-mail and validate YOU!
Wishing you a lovely week!
Namaste,
Monique
